Sherman Oaks Dentistry is a private-owned practice serving the community for over 20 years. Our practice performs general cosmetic dentistry with several in-house specialties which gives our patients access to services such as periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery.

Our practice had always maintained a high standard of care for our patients. We believe that patients should always have access to high-quality dental care and dental materials.

ABOUT THE APPLICANT:

We are looking for a reliable self-motivated full-time Dental Assistant to join our team. Dental Assistants provide support and assistance to our dentist in providing quality dental care to our patients. He/she must be knowledgeable of different dental instruments, equipment, tools, materials, and procedures.

We are a fast-paced dental office and Dental Assistants are expected to be efficient in managing their time, providing direct and indirect patient care, making office procedures go as smooth as possible. He/she must demonstrate positive attitude, good communication skills to both patients and co-workers, and willingness to go above and beyond to provide exceptional patient care.

JOB TYPE:

Full-time (must be able to work every other Saturday - up to 40 hours a week)

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Sterilize and set up rooms for various dental procedures
Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments, tools, and equipment
Maintain cleanliness and cheerfulness during operations
Make patients feel comfortable as you seat them and prepare them for treatment
Take dental impressions using various materials such as alginate, and/or vinyl polysiloxane
Take intraoral digital scans using Medit i500 for clear aligners
Create and deliver bleaching trays
Perform coronal polishing, give fluoride treatment, and deliver oral hygiene instructions
Pouring and trimming models
Assist dentist and specialists during dental procedures in an efficient and professional manner
Capture diagnostic images such as intraoral photos and x-rays
Record patient charting and all of the dentist’s notes accurately in the digital patient chart or as directed by the dentist or office manager
Direct and maintain patient flow to/from front desk and introduce them to other team members in an appropriate way

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Experience in dental assisting is preferred but not required. We are willing to train.
Passion and willingness to learn new skills and techniques
Fluent in English
Bi-lingual in Spanish highly preferred
Knowledge in Dentrix a plus
High school or equivalent
Certified Dental Assistant required
Radiation Safety Certificate required
Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification required
Coronal Polishing Certificate required
Pits and Fissure Sealant Certificate required
Infection Control Certificate required
Dental Practice Act Certificate required

SALARY:

Starting at $18/hr (negotiable depending on experience)

SUPPLEMENTAL PAY:

Monthly Bonus Incentives (depending on performance)

Our office follows the infection control guidelines and recommendations directly from CDC, ADA, and OSHA.
