Responsibilities
- Ensure patients feels comfortable and at ease during their appointment
- Provide comprehensive preventive oral care and educate patients on their periodontal health
- Provide prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, laser therapy, and fluoride treatments
- Ensure current periodontal chartings and radiographs
- Work in conjunction with the dentist in educating patients on periodontal health and areas of restorative concern and assist them during their semi-annual exams
- Utilize ultrasonic and hand scalers during prophylaxis and SRP
- Provide local anesthesia when necessary
- Maintain detailed documentation for each patient, including clinical notes, periodontal charting, radiographs, and intraoral photos
- Schedule patients for their next hygiene visit
- Efficiently manage time and maintain punctuality of appointments
