Job Description

We are a private practice located in beautiful Yorba Linda! We are looking for a full time competent dental assistant (or two part time assistants) who will make our office more efficient and pleasant for patients. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. Our office has been here for 12 years and we are looking for an experienced and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our growing practice.

Candidates must have at least two years of dental assisting experience. You will greet patients, prepare exam rooms, and help the dentist during patient examinations and other dental procedures. Between patients, you will clean exam rooms and replenish supplies.

Dental Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

Gather patient information and health background
Prepare the work area for procedures
Take x-rays when necessary and display results for the dentist
Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures
Prepare materials for crowns or dental impressions
Educate patients on good oral hygiene habits
Fabricate temporary restorations - experience with temporary inlays would be helpful but we are willing to teach if you are willing to learn!
Restock treatment areas and monitor inventory/lab cases
Scanning with iTero: Invisalign and restorative work

Dental Assistant Requirements and Qualifications

Dental assistant certificate from an accredited vocational school (preferred)
2-3 years’ experience in a dental practice
X-ray certification
Current BLS and CPR certification
Excellent understanding of dental procedures
Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
