We are currently looking to hire a part time hygienist for one to two days per week in beautiful San Clemente California. We have two hygienist in the office and three operatories for Dr Johnson to work out of. We are a small but very busy well known office in the area and would like to meet you and discuss the opportunity to join our team.
Dr. Johnson and the staff provide quality dental care to patients in the San Clemente area, focusing on a comprehensive approach to oral health. By treating and educating patients, our team helps patients to stay healthy in between visits. Our staff understands the importance of listening to patients, helping them to feel comfortable and relaxed. This personal approach is evident in everything we do. From making an appointment, filling out paperwork, conducting an examination, and providing dental treatments, the staff at Dr. Eric Johnson take the time to connect with patients and give them the thoughtful attention they deserve. Our team is trained on advanced dental procedures and techniques so that patients can benefit in improving their dental health.
We have a current open position on Thursdays from 7:30AM- 5:00PM
Possibly Wednesday 7:30AM-5PM We are flexible and will offer two days if needed.
Starting pay is $55 to local competitive pay for this position.

Responsibilities
- Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
- Sterilize dental instruments properly
- Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
- Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
- Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)
- Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
- Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
- Take X-rays or dental impressions
- Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
- Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
Requirements
- Proven experience as Dental Hygienist minimum of 8-10 years
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
- Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
- Outstanding communication skills
- A patient and friendly personality
- Attention to detail
- Education in OSHA guidelines
- Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
- Diploma in Dental Hygiene; Master’s is a plus
- Valid license to practice
- CPR certified
- Recognizing the importance of being a team player and willing to step in when needed.
