Requirements of the Dental Hygienist
- Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene required (bachelor’s preferred)
- Current state license
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working with children preferred
- Basic understanding and knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules
- Current CPR certification required
Responsibilities of the Dental Hygienist
- Collect medical and dental histories from patients
- Chart dental conditions based on observations and evaluations
- Provide optimum care for patients
- Instruct patients of all ages on proper dental hygiene and care
- Sterilize dental instruments
