Dental Assistant needed in our dental office

Our small, intimate dental office is seeking an exceptional Dental Assistant for an opportunity to join our dedicated team.

Who We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate has 1-2 years of experience, but we are willing to bend if we find someone with a positive, upbeat attitude!

Responsibilities
·       Greet patients, prepare patient for dental examination and assist the dentist during                     examinations and procedures.

·       Clean and polish teeth and clinical crowns; apply fluoride and sealant.

·       Sterilize or disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays and prepare materials

·       Take and develop patient x-rays.

·       Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.

·       Assist dentist in management of medical or dental emergencies.

·       Assess emergency situations; remain familiar with emergency protocols

·       Take and record medical and dental histories including vital signs.

·       Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.

·       Keep running inventory of equipment and supplies.

·       Ensure that all stocks and supplies are requested in a timely fashion

·       Ensure regular reviews of all required stock and maintenance of operating equipment  

·       Clean and proper maintenance of appliances and equipment.

·       Ensure that operating equipment is used properly and not abused.

·       Take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts.

·       Fabricate and place temporary crowns and restorations.

·       Educate patients on value and importance of proposed treatment plan 

·       Schedule patient appointments and record dental procedures performed.

·       Pouring and trimming of study models.

·       Conducts spore/biological indicator tests.
