Job Description

Our outstanding dental practice is seeking an exceptional Dental Hygienist for an opportunity to join our dedicated team.

Who We Are & Who We're Looking For
We are a private, multi-specialty office in Culver City, CA looking to add a registered dental hygienist to our team of providers. Our ideal candidate is someone with a minimum of 3 years working experience with great people and clinical skills. Experience with Open Dental software or working with a periodontist is a plus.

Responsibilities

Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
Sterilize dental instruments properly
Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
Clean and help protect patients’ teeth remove plaque or apply fluoride or sealants
Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
Take X-rays or dental impressions
Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
Monitor supplies
Schedule follow up appointments when necessary

Skills

Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (HIPAA and OSHA)
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
Outstanding communication skills
A patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
Valid license to practice

Office Schedule

Our office is open Monday - Saturday, generally offering hygiene days Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Our hours of operation are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. but this time frame is flexible depending on the hygienist's desired schedule. We are looking for a commitment of a minimum of two days for this position.
