Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting our dental professionals in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a startup practice. Experience with open dental is highly desirable. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards. Manage patient records and medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging as required. Utilize 3D scanners for advanced imaging when necessary. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Experience Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Familiarity with OPEN DENTAL is advantageous. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential. Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with children is a plus. Proficiency in taking medical records and understanding medical coding will be beneficial.
