Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our dental practitioners. This position involves assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. A strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and chairside assisting techniques is essential. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. Take and develop X-rays as needed, utilizing knowledge of medical imaging. Manage patient records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for accurate medical documentation. Conduct preliminary assessments including taking vital signs and documenting medical history. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Operate 3D scanners for imaging when required. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist with ordering when necessary. Requirements Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred. Proficiency in using EMR systems; familiarity with Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while adhering to aseptic techniques. Understanding of infection control practices within a dental environment. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in radiography is preferred; knowledge of medical coding is an asset.
