Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, with experience in both general and pediatric dentistry. This role involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. A commitment to patient care and infection control is essential. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment in accordance with aseptic techniques. Take X-rays as needed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Open Dental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct preliminary assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical history. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry tasks. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to infection control protocols. Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow when necessary. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Open Dental. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical documentation practices. Ability to perform medical imaging and operate a 3D scanner. Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Certification in dental assisting is required; CPR certification is also beneficial. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
