Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting. This role requires proficiency in various dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic while adhering to all safety and infection control protocols. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, providing chairside support. Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring they are sterilized and ready for use. Take and develop X-rays as needed, while adhering to safety standards. Document patient information accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including medical documentation and records management. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following infection control protocols. Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist with medical imaging techniques. Stay updated on dental terminology, procedures, and advancements in technology such as 3D scanners. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems (Dentrix) and medical documentation practices. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Understanding of general dentistry practices is essential. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry effectively while assisting the dentist during procedures. Strong communication skills to interact with patients of all ages compassionately. Proficiency in taking X-rays and understanding medical imaging concepts. Knowledge of medical coding is beneficial but not required. Certification or training in dental assisting is preferred; relevant certifications in CPR or first aid are advantageous.
