Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with practice protocols and regulatory requirements
- Ensure efficient workflow and task completion within designated timelines
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and practice operations
- Patient preparation: Greets patients, takes them to the exam room, and prepares them for treatment by reviewing medical history and ensuring they are comfortable.
- Procedure assistance: Works alongside the dentist during examinations and procedures like fillings, extractions, and crowns.
- Instrumentation: Sterilizes instruments and equipment, prepares the work area, and hands instruments to the dentist as needed.
- Radiography: Take and process dental x-rays as ordered by the dentist, operate and maintain dental radiography equipment.
- Materials management: Places materials for dental procedures, takes impressions for models, and cleans and polishes removable appliances.
- Oral hygiene education: Instructs patients on proper oral hygiene, plaque control, and post-procedure care.
- Emergency preparedness: Assists in managing medical emergencies and maintains BLS certification.
