Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Homewood, IL

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are prepared in advance. Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during patient treatments. Manage patient records and maintain accurate medical records using EAGLESOFT software. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols. Conduct medical imaging procedures as required, ensuring high-quality images for diagnostic purposes. Provide patient education on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans. Support the front desk with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing medical coding. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience in pediatric dentistry and other specialties like Endodontics. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding is advantageous for effective communication within the healthcare setting. Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar dental management software is desirable. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and assisting during procedures. Ability to perform basic tasks related to four-handed dentistry techniques effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and team members. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training programs is preferred but not mandatory.
