Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing exceptional patient service and administrative support within a medical office environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and experience with various electronic health record (EHR) systems. As a Patient Services Representative, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and professionally. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner at the front desk. Manage patient scheduling, including appointments and follow-ups, utilizing EHR systems. Conduct insurance verification and assist with medical billing processes, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Handle medical collections and documentation review to maintain accurate patient records. Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing multi-line phone systems. Assist in the preparation of Treatment plans and maintain health information management standards. Address patient inquiries regarding services, insurance coverage, and billing issues with excellent customer service skills. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow within the clinic. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with EHR systems such as Athenahealth, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is highly desirable. Bilingual skills are a plus to enhance communication with diverse patient populations. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications; typing speed should meet office requirements. Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to provide outstanding patient service. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of dental terminology is beneficial for those applying to dental offices.
