Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control, and support the overall patient experience. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. The Dental Assistant will be instrumental in maintaining efficient clinic operations and delivering high-quality dental care. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, and root canals using four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including 3D scans when applicable, adhering to safety protocols Record vital signs and medical history using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while maintaining HIPAA compliance Manage medical documentation and records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems Provide patient education on oral health, post-operative care, and dental procedures using appropriate dental terminology Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures Assist with medical imaging and record keeping for pediatric patients and general dentistry cases Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and coordinating with the dental reception team Ensure all clinical areas are clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA standards Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a dental clinic setting; familiarity with dental assisting procedures is essential Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical coding and records management is a plus Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely and effectively; certification in radiography preferred Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Experience with pediatric dentistry is advantageous; familiarity with pediatrics-specific procedures is preferred Skilled in chairside assisting across various specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration This position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to patient care excellence while working alongside experienced dental professionals.
