Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for various dental procedures. Take and develop X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient flow and assist with scheduling appointments as needed, including pediatric dentistry cases. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging as required. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dental clinic, adhering to aseptic techniques. Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in dental technology such as 3D scanners. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred, particularly in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatrics. Proficiency with EMR systems including Dentrix and Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical documentation, coding, and records management is beneficial. Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is essential for success in this role.
