Dental Assistant — Full-Time (4 Days/Week) Van Hemert Family Dentistry – Newton, Iowa Full-Time (≈32 hrs/week) | Mon–Thu, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (1-hour lunch) Pay: $20–$25/hr (DOE) About Us Van Hemert Family Dentistry is a family-centered dental practice serving Central Iowa and beyond . We blend high-quality general dental care with functional and integrative approaches , recognizing the connection between oral health and overall wellness. Our office provides comprehensive care for all ages, including pediatric airway-focused dentistry and other wellness-oriented techniques. If these areas are new to you, we’ll provide full training and continuing education to help you grow. The Opportunity We’re looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Dental Assistant who loves people and wants to be part of a supportive, growth-minded team. Experience is preferred, but we’re happy to train the right person with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn. Responsibilities Chairside assisting during a variety of procedures Room setup, sterilization, and infection control Patient communication and education Digital X-rays, intraoral photos, and charting in Dentrix Support preventive, restorative, and whole-health-focused care Support the Team At Van Hemert Family Dentistry, we believe every role contributes to the patient experience. In this position, you’ll also have the opportunity to learn and support our front desk team as needed — helping with scheduling, phone calls, or patient coordination when appropriate. We’ll provide training so you feel confident stepping in when needed, while still focusing primarily on your assisting role.
