Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical procedures. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in supporting both clinical and administrative functions within our state-of-the-art dental clinic. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring proper sterilization and aseptic techniques. Take dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Record medical history, and other patient information accurately using EMR systems such as Dentrix. Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA standards. Operate 3D scanners and other advanced dental imaging equipment for precise diagnosis and treatment planning. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow when needed. Ensure all clinical areas meet infection control standards through proper sterilization of instruments and equipment. Experience Prior experience working as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry setting is preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft or Epic is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding is essential. Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging, aseptic technique, and infection control protocols is required. Certification in chairside assisting or relevant dental assisting programs is preferred but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates willing to learn on the job.
