Dental Assistant - Westover Dental Clinic - Portland, OR

Westover Dental here in NW Portland! We are in search of a full time assistant staring in January 2026. We want to offer this person whatever days they prefer between 3-5 days a week. Our patient hours are: Monday 8-5 Tuesday 8-5 Every other Wednesday 10-2 Thursday 8-5 Friday 8-1 An ideal candidate is EFDA certified, an independent, organized, friendly team player. They know how and or is interested in making whitening/retention trays and doing some office work. We have two assistants for one doctor on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays so it's a more easy going position for the assistant. Responsibilities include: -Escorting patients from waiting area to treatment room and dismissing -Explaining/educating patient about treatment, with knowledge and examples -Taking radio graphs -Prophylaxis-removing plaque, cleaning the teeth to prevent cavities and gum disease Explaining post operative information and answering patient questions Chair side assisting to include, but not limited to, the following: -passing instruments and retrieving materials -suctioning, air-dry, water rinse -mixing cements and impression materials -alginate impressions, bite registration -managing patient comfort during treatment -delivering appliances -applying fluoride and sealant, -temp crowns Charting duties include to include but limited are as following: -examining chart prior to procedure for review with Dr and proper prep of treatment room -documenting in chart Room preparation/clean-up to include but not limited to the following: -barrier operatory -setting up treatment trays and other materials for multiple procedures -clean and disinfect operatory Lab tasks including but not limited to the following: -cleaning and sterilizing instruments and other materials -pouring plaster/stone to make models -packaging cases with lab slip to completion to the laboratory Maintenance, to include but not limited, to the following: Overseeing all the maintenance in compliance to OSHA standards, operating manuals, and basic cleanliness Job Type: Full-time Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 23 – 33 per week Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Paid sick time Paid time off Work Location: In person
