Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Experience with EMR systems, infection control protocols, and pediatric dentistry is highly valued. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring patient comfort during visits. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and polishing to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments including vital signs and medical history review. Assist with chairside procedures such as medical imaging, medical coding, and documentation review. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain accurate and complete dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate treatment plans and procedures. Support infection control protocols through aseptic technique and sterilization procedures. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure comprehensive patient care. Monitor patient comfort levels and address concerns during treatment. Stay current with advancements in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and dental assisting techniques. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice. Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR systems. Experience with pediatric dentistry, four-handed dentistry, and chairside assisting preferred. Knowledge of medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and anatomy relevant to dental care. Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic technique, and HIPAA compliance. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and documentation review processes. Previous experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is highly desirable. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively. Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
