Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong background in dental assisting. This role involves providing exceptional chairside support to our pediatric dentists, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for our young patients. The Pediatric Dental Assistant will also assist in various administrative tasks, contributing to the smooth operation of our dental clinic. Duties Assist pediatric dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use Perform X-rays and medical imaging as required, adhering to safety protocols Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage patient flow and assist with scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist Educate patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Ensure infection control protocols are followed, maintaining aseptic techniques throughout the clinic Utilize EMR systems Open Dental for patient management and documentation Assist in the operation of 3D scanners when applicable Stay informed about dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and general dentistry practices Experience Previous experience in a pediatric dental setting is preferred but not mandatory Familiarity with dental assisting procedures Knowledge of medical coding and documentation practices is advantageous Understanding of infection control measures and aseptic techniques is essential Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and their families Join us in making a difference in children's dental health while working in a supportive environment that values teamwork and professional growth.
