Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Roanoke, VA

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations of our dental office, providing exceptional patient service, and ensuring smooth administrative processes. This role requires a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and proficiency in medical office management. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in and check-out process. Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar efficiently. Handle patient inquiries via phone and in-person with excellent phone etiquette. Verify insurance information and assist with insurance claims processing. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT and ICD-10 coding. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to patient visits. Assist in collecting payments and managing medical collections as needed. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks for patient management. Support the dental team with clerical tasks including filing, typing, and maintaining organized medical records. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role is preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology and clinic experience is highly desirable. Proficiency in EHR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is a plus. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with multi-line phone systems is essential. Knowledge of medical coding (ICD coding) and billing practices is beneficial. Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish is a plus (bilingual preferred). Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review. Strong customer service skills to ensure a positive patient experience.
