Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. The Dental Assistant will be instrumental in ensuring smooth daily operations while adhering to all safety and infection control protocols. Experience with EMR systems such as Denticon, Eaglesoft, Dentrix and Open Dental is preferred, along with a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Record vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and verifying insurance information Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to infection control standards and proper handling of dental equipment Support administrative tasks such as medical coding, data entry into Epic or other systems, and managing patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with specialized treatments in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or other dental specialties as needed Ensure the clinic operates smoothly by maintaining inventory levels of dental supplies and equipment Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred Proficiency with EMR systems such as Denticon, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is advantageous Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques Familiarity with infection control procedures and aseptic techniques in a clinical environment Experience with X-ray procedures and 3D scanner technology is desirable Background in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus Certification or training in chairside assisting or related fields is beneficial but not mandatory Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment This position offers an engaging work environment where your skills will directly contribute to patient health and satisfaction.
