Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and documenting medical records accurately. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficient workflow and patient comfort. Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review, medical coding, and maintaining electronic medical records (EMR systems). Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans tailored to pediatric and adult patients. Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques, sterilizing instruments, and adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care delivery in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in dental office environments with familiarity using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control procedures. Skilled in performing dental procedures such as scaling, root planing, fluoride treatments, and applying sealants. Experience working with pediatric patients and understanding of pediatric dentistry best practices. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration. Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging assistance, and documentation review accurately.
