We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, proficiency in the use of Cerec and Primescan, excellent chairside assisting skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Perform chairside assisting with proficiency in four-handed dentistry and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and infection control. Take digital X-rays, including 3D scans, intra-oral photos, Primescan, ensuring accurate medical imaging and documentation. Record vital signs and medical history, maintaining precise medical records in EMR system - Eaglesoft. Manage patient flow efficiently by preparing treatment rooms and ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-operative care, and oral health practices using appropriate dental terminology. Maintain sterilization protocols and uphold strict infection control standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Support administrative tasks such as updating medical documentation and assisting with medical coding when necessary. Collaborate with team members including dental receptionists to ensure seamless patient experiences. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar platforms for managing medical records and documentation. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control procedures. Experience with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners. Knowledge of Cerec and Primescan. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with complex procedures across various specialties such as prosthodontics and endodontics. Familiarity with aseptic techniques, general dentistry protocols, and the use of dental assisting tools. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients while maintaining professionalism. Ability to work efficiently in a team environment while managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
