Our outstanding dental practice is seeking an exceptional Dental Hygienist for an opportunity to join our dedicated team.
Who We Are We are a General Dental Family Practice offering exceptional care since 1938. Our mission is to help our patients keep their teeth for a lifetime by completing necessary treatment and providing ongoing preventative care. We offer multiple surgical, preventative, and comprehensive care including implants, crowns and bridges, endodontics, periodontics, bone and soft tissue grafting, and orthodontics.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for a caring, exceptional Dental Hygienist, who is personally committed to providing effective periodontal treatment in the most skillful and careful manner achievable.
Responsibilities
- Great interpersonal relationships as demonstrated with staff and with patients from the moment of greeting, throughout the hygiene appointment, and finishing with scheduling patient's next recall appointment.
- Values each patient as shown through excellent patient care during scaling, root planing, administration of local anesthetic (as needed), use of Cavitron, polishing, application of fluoride varnish, teeth whitening, etc.
- Performs annual full mouth periodontal evaluation on all patients 18 years and older. Spot probes pockets greater than 4 mm at all other visits, records findings. Communicates findings with doctor and staff in working to educate, provide initial therapy, and referring patients as needed to a specialist.
- Performs annual full mouth probing and/or within 3 months of root planing treatment.
- Takes digital radiographs for diagnosis (FMX/Pano every 5 yrs., BWX annually).
- Obtains and documents baseline oral hygiene assessment data. Provides good oral hygiene health education for all patients of the practice as well as counsels patients on nutrition related to oral hygiene. Documents oral hygiene instructions in patient's chart.
- Gives an oral cancer exam at every visit; discusses with patients and doctor.
- Updates personal information, medical history and vital signs of patients. Inquires as to patient's concerns; documents chief complaint. Has doctor sign updated medical history.
- Sterilizes and disinfects instruments, equipment, and work area. Works with RDA to maintain equipment, operatory, and instruments.
- Has the ability to work independently and as a member of team achieving goals together.
- Must have current California RDH license, X-ray license, and CPR license..
