Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk with professionalism and friendliness. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claims processing using systems like Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Athenahealth. Collect payments, process medical billing, and perform accurate coding using CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain comprehensive medical records and review documentation for accuracy and completeness. Assist dental providers with chairside support, including preparing treatment rooms and managing dental terminology. Manage multi-line phone systems, answer patient inquiries with excellent phone etiquette, and coordinate appointment scheduling efficiently. Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry using Microsoft Office or 10-key typing, and maintaining organized patient files. Skills Proven experience in dental office settings with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical coding (ICD-9/10, CPT). Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms like Meditech or Epic. Familiarity with health information management standards including HIPAA compliance and insurance verification procedures. Excellent customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities. Ability to handle medical administrative support tasks such as documentation review, filing, and managing medical records accurately. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and experience with multi-line phone systems. Bilingual abilities are a plus to enhance patient interactions across diverse populations. Previous clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental billing and medical coding is essential.
