Job Description

Premier PPO and fee-for-service practice in the southeast valley seeking a full-time entry level dental hygiene assistant. This unique and important role provides exclusive support to four full time hygienists daily. Hours are fulltime Monday-Friday with alternating Monday and Friday schedule for two four day weekend per month! The following skills, duties and certifications required: x-ray certification Duties include: Set up and take down rooms and ensure prepped and ready for next hygiene patient Greet patient, provide thorough and friendly tour Seat patient Take and record blood pressures Review medical history and provide information to hygienist appropriately Provide thorough and detailed transfers from patient to hygienist or to doctor when necessary Take accurate and timely x-rays and avoid too many x-rays to patients and cone cuts Take accurate IOC images Perio charting and probing scores input Provide accurate oral hygiene instructions when needed Notify doctor of need for exam when asked Dispense oral hygiene aids (sonicare, waterpik, recare bags) Be familiar with how to properly schedule future recare appointments Create and add to appropriate and accurate clinical notes using template and adding info, or personal notes in the family file about the patient Sterilization procedures Prophy Cassettes Ultrasonic needs Ensuring notification to Ordering Assistant when supplies low or out of stock immediately! Follow proper OSHA and HIPAA protocols and know how to identify issues when she sees them CPR certified and able to assist in time of emergency and knows how to follow property safety protocols Communicate effectively to hygienists and other team members throughout the day Identify when work with hygienists is done and immediately begins downtime list and/or end of day list to stay productive throughout entire day Notify Nikki of equipment needs/maintenance Complete end of day duties thoroughly and prepare for it throughout day. Sign off on checklist daily. Job Type: Full-time Salary: $13.00 to $15.00 /hour
