Job Description

• Exposes and processes dental radiographs (x-rays) • Assist the Dentist during a variety of examinations and treat-ment procedures such as instrument transfer, dental proce-dure isolation techniques and preparation of dental materials • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and cassettes for pro-cedure • Greets and prepares patients for treatment • Records medical and dental history and vital signs of patients • Records visit information in the electronic patient record sys-tem (DentiMax) • Pours, trims and polishes study casts; fabricates custom im-pression trays from preliminary impressions; cleans and pol-ishes removable appliances and fabricates temporary resto-rations • Takes impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts (model of teeth) • Serves as an infection control officers, follows infection con-trol protocols and sterilizes and disinfects instruments and equipment • Helps patients feel comfortable before, during and after den-tal treatment • Provides patients with instructions for oral care following sur-gery or other dental treatment procedures, such as place-ment of a restoration (filling) • Coordinates lab cases with different labs; assures timely pick up and delivery of cases. Keep the lab area clean and orga-nized. Track cases and communicates scheduling needs to the Patient Care Coordinator • Assist patients with referrals and follow up appointments • Perform other duties as requested
