 Responsibilities:

• Assist the pediatric dentist during examinations and dental procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment
• Take and develop dental X-rays as permitted by licensure and office protocols
• Assist with restorative procedures, sealants, extractions, stainless steel crowns, and other pediatric dental procedures
• Provide chairside assistance and anticipate the dentist’s needs
• Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Follow sterilization, infection control, and OSHA guidelines
• Assist with nitrous oxide and sedation procedures as trained and permitted
• Help with patient preparation and post-treatment instructions
• Comfort and reassure children who may be nervous or anxious
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with parents and caregivers
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation
• Monitor and maintain dental supplies and inventory
• Follow all office policies and safety procedures
• Work closely with the dentist and entire team to ensure excellent patient care

What We’re Looking For

• Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification
• Current required certifications and permits
• Previous dental assisting experience preferred
• Pediatric dental experience is a plus

Our office treats patients with conventional braces and clear aligners. This is a full time position 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Make everyone feel like a welcomed guest to our office
- Greet patients and visitors, determine their status and needs
- Electronic charting using Dolphin Management and Imaging
- Archwire removal and replacement

- Clear aligner attachment bonding and progress monitoring
- Assist doctor during appliance placement
- Inform and update patients/parents on treatment progress and dental education
- Take orthodontic records (photographs, digital x-rays, and intraoral scans)

- Basic dental office sterilization

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills

- Excellent verbal and manual dexterity skills
- RDA and x-ray certification preferred
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to work independently, accurately, and quickly
