Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Clinical duties: expected existing skills:

• Take diagnostic dental x-rays

• Conduct mouth-mirror inspections and chart findings

• Apply fluorides

• Perform coronal polishing

• Oral hygiene instructions

• Clinical duties: open to learn and do:

• Apply silver fluoride (SDF), Curodont, iodine, and other brush-on medicines

• Place sealants

• Take 3D intraoral scans

• Nutritional counseling

• Perform motivational interviewing

• Patient Care:

• Greet patients and help them feel comfortable and cared for.

• Clearly explain procedures and self-care.

• Obtain and review patient health histories.

• Administrative Duties:

• Collaborate with RDHs, RDA-EFs, RDAs, DAs, and front office staff.

• Participate in team meetings and promote a positive work environment.

• Help run any aspect of the dental practice.

• Accurately record procedures in an electronic health record.

• Ensure privacy compliance.

• Monitor patient flow and manage operatories efficiently.

• Turn over units, maintain water & suction lines, including end-of-day line flushing.

• Run sterilization and conduct/track weekly spore tests.

• Contribute to basic cleaning, tidying, and organization (we all contribute).

• Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies, including finding optimal rates for supplies.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RDA license in good standing (contact us for exceptions!)

• Hold coronal polish & X-ray certificates

• 1 year full time (or equivalent) experience in clinical dentistry

• Be willing to learn and deliver non-invasive care dentistry

• Experience with either young children (0-5) or older adults (65+)

• Spoken and written fluency in English

• Any educational, work, volunteering, or other character-building experience outside of dentistry that can be meaningfully described

Differentiators (not required):

•  Advanced certifications (orthodontic, ultrasonic)

• Expanded Function (EF) license

• Fluency in non-English language, particularly Cantonese, Spanish, Mandarin, Tagalog, Russian, or Vietnamese

• Non-US dental experience

Physical requirements:

Fine motor skills typical of dentistry. Sit for long periods of time, holding physical positions typical of dentistry and dental assisting. Occasionally lift and move objects that are up to 25 pounds, such as jugs of water and a vacuum cleaner.
