Our exceptional periodontal practice is seeking an excellent surgical Dental Assistant for an opportunity to join our dedicated team.

Who We Are

We are a dental office specializing in periodontical care. Our office is located in Milpitas and has been taking care of patients for over 40 years! We are a full service periodontal office performing a wide scope of periodontal therapy including periodontal and impalnt related treatments. We are looking for a dental assistant to help with our surgical procedures.

We are looking for a fun, compassionate, team player who is dedicated to giving excellent patient care and to help serve our community with their periodontal needs.  Previous dental assisting experience is very helpful to the cadidate but we will train you for our specific needs. The role of the surgical assistant is a critcal part of our ability to give our patients  the best periodontal treatment and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• performs preoperative and postopertive duties to facilitate patient care
• verifies identities of patients and operative sites that are being treated
• monitors and maintains aseptic technique for procedures
• maintains unobstructed views of the surgical field using surgical retractors, suction and irrigation
• sets up and breaks down exam and surgical rooms 
• determines availability of necessary equiptment and supplies for planned procedures
• obtain dental radiographs and dental imaging
• assists during new patient exams taking readings and recording patient information
• other related duties as assigned
• basic computer skills are necessary
• ability to work well in a team setting and individually
• good judgement and critical thinking skills
• strong attention to detail and meticulous care on the job
