Job Summary:

As a dental office hygienist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving patients' oral health. You will work closely with dentists and other dental professionals to provide preventive dental care and educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices. Your responsibilities will include performing dental cleanings, taking X-rays, examining patients for signs of oral diseases, and assisting with other dental procedures as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct dental cleanings to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from patients' teeth.
• Take and develop dental X-rays to assist in diagnosing oral health conditions.
• Perform periodontal screenings and assess patients' oral health conditions.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care.
• Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to prevent tooth decay.
• Assist dentists with dental procedures, such as fillings, root canals, and extractions.
• Maintain and sterilize dental equipment and instruments.
• Keep accurate records of patient treatments and progress.

Requirements:

• Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
• Valid state license to practice dental hygiene.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and oral health principles.
• Proficiency in taking dental X-rays and using dental software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a compassionate manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working as a dental hygienist in a dental office setting.
• CPR certification.
