Job Description

Welcome Orthodontics is a new up and coming Orthodontic office located in Oakland, California who has an opening for an enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our team. We are looking for someone who is driven and open to learning new skills. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask and must possess a "team player" attitude. You must have a friendly personality and prioritize providing the patients with the best patient care and experience possible. We are open to providing training for the right candidate with a background in other dental specialties. New Dental Assistant graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Assist Orthodontist during Orthodontic procedures
- Take dental radiographs (x-rays) including impressions and photographs
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Provide patients with instructions for new appliances and the need for compliance for successful Orthodontic treatment
- Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene techniques
- Prepare treatment area for patients following procedures and protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with dental lab work as needed
- Manage inventory and order dental supplies, plus other duties as assigned

Skills:
- Patient focused, team player
- Experience using dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Cloud 9
- Strong patient assessment skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Familiarity with dental anatomy and terminology
- Excellent infection control practices to ensure the safety of patients and staff

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
