We are looking for a part-time registered dental hygienist whose primary goal is to only do the things that YOU can do: hand scale, cavitron, administer local anesthesia, give sound oral hygiene instruction, and explain and promote any of our Doctor’s recommended dental treatments.

Responsibilities/Job description:

• Wearing loupes is a must.  
• Administering local anesthesia to our operative patients.
• Co-diagnosing caries/pathology with our doctor.
• Aside from the RDH standard of hand scaling, use of cavitron, coronal polishing, taking diagnostic radiographs, you will be an overall clinical team helper!
• You will be helping our office flow by guiding dental assistants and reminding our Doctor where to go to make the day run smoothly.
• Quickly learning and whole-heartedly adapting to our office protocols and flow.
• Rolling out the red carpet for our new patients, recare patients and their parents by
  • having professional yet kid friendly verbal skills
  • motivating our patients and parents to better oral hygiene
  • explaining treatment to parents in a manner that fits their personality style.
• Charting appropriate dentition, existing treatment, caries, treatment planning and phasing treatment in Dentrix. 
• Taking intra-oral photos.
• Applying sealants, and Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF).
• Effectively communicating treatment recommended to the business team vía our protocol.
• Coaching any new dental assistants how to efficiently take diagnostic radiographs, coronal polish, and how to assist in operative treatment with our doctor (e.g. how to hold a suction, rinse, dry, pass instruments, etc).
• Eagerly helping out your clinical teammates in any way possible: office cleaning, sterilization, stocking, flipping chairs, writing up chart notes.
• Helping out our business team by answering and making phone calls as needed.
• Our doctor has a passion for airway/breathing and tongue/lip tie releases! With the training of our doctor, you will also educate our parents on airway and restrictive tongue and lip ties.
• Assisting in any operative procedures as needed if we are short-staffed. 
• Assisting in school oral hygiene programs.
• Attending community marketing events outside of office hours (Examples: school fairs, sponsored booths, etc).

We use Dentrix, Dexis & Schick radiograph sensors, Smart mouth intraoral camera, Planmeca CBCT, and the Planmeca Intraoral Scanner. 

Ideally, you have 1 year of experience. 

We are looking for a part-time RDH: 1-2 days per week, with one of these days being Thursdays or Mondays. The other day can be worked out with our doctor and management.

This is an ideal role for a hygienist looking to get out of the house a couple days a week and enrich the lives of the cutest children in our area!

Should this be a good fit for the both of us, we can add more days your work week.

Yes, we know you can make more money temping, but come to an office where not every day is your "first day" on the job!

Our office hours starting May 1, 2024:  Monday-Thursdays 8:30am-4:30pm. We are closed on Fridays and the weekend.

Compensation depends on experience, and your experience in pediatric dentistry.
