Responsibilities

Dental Assistant will be able to do the following to adequately perform the basic funtions of this job:

• Know dental terminology and be able to identify both primary and permanent tooth numbers and surfaces.

• Have a working knowledge and apptitude of safety and sterilization techiniques.

• Be able to communicate well with children and explain Oral Hygiene instructions to them and their parents/guardians.  Also, must communicate well with team and management.

• Understand protocols for taking radiographs and be proficient in taking them.

• Know appropriate set- up for each type of appointment, assist RDH and Doctor in charting process and other areas as needed.

• Polish teeth proficiently and assist in placing sealants and SDF.

• Understand and execute knowledge of the note taking process in Open Dental.

• Learn other skills as needed.
