Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team and help promote oral health through patient education, preventive care, and treatment. In this role, you will perform professional dental cleanings, assess oral health conditions, and support our dental team in providing top-tier patient care. This position requires strong technical skills, a passion for patient care, and adherence to high hygiene and safety standards.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Perform dental cleanings (scaling and polishing) and apply fluoride treatments.
Assess patients' oral health, including checking for gum disease and cavities.
Take and interpret dental X-rays.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
Assist the dentist with treatment planning by documenting findings.
Maintain accurate patient records and charting in the electronic health record system (EHR).
Follow infection control protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
Recommend appropriate dental products and provide dietary counseling for oral health.
Education & Certification:
Associateâs Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program required.
Valid California Dental Hygienist License required.
Radiology Certification (X-ray license) required.
CPR/BLS certification preferred.
Prior Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Dental Hygienist.
Strong knowledge of periodontal therapy and preventive care.
Experience using dental software and electronic health records (EHR).
Skills:
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
Ability to build trust and comfort with patients.
Knowledge of current dental hygiene techniques and best practices.
