Responsibilities

Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and government programs.
Review patient records and ensure accuracy of medical coding using ICD-9 and ICD-10 standards.
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to service.
Follow up on unpaid claims and manage accounts receivable through effective medical collection practices.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies or issues.
Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.

Requirements

Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of medical records.
Experience with medical coding, including familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes.
Knowledge of medical billing processes and systems is essential.
Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.
