Requirements: Laboratory, preclinical and clinical faculty must hold a current Certified Dental Assistant by the Dental Assisting National Board.Recommendations/Additional Information: Current Dental Assistant Radiographer's Certificate by the Dental Assisting National BoardDental Assisting students learn to become a vital member of the dental health team. Responsibilities include preventive dentistry, dental materials, terminology, lab skills, x-rays, medical emergencies, chairside techniques and so much more. All students will have the opportunity to become certified in CPR, AED and first aid. Also they can become credentialed with OSHA-10 in Healthcare and have the opportunity to sit for the Certified Ohio Dental Assisting credential.Upon completion of the program, students can find employment as an assistant in a dental office, work in a dental lab, dental sales company representative, insurance company or military.
