Mountaineer Dental and Sleep Center is a patient-focused general and cosmetic dental office. We are here to serve our patients in and around the High Country community.
We are looking for someone with EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CLINICAL SKILLS to make our patients feel welcome and personally cared for while receiving care in our office.
We are a fun and upbeat team, have a solid hygiene program in place, and utilize the latest dental technology, including cordless handpieces (Freedom RDH), ergonomic saddle chairs, and digital sensors. We will provide top-notch training in the dental industry and protocols of our office. One of our core values is life-long learning and personal development, and we provide resources and support to help our team achieve this.
Our office is open Monday through Thursday, 8am-5pm with a break for lunch from 1-2pm. Hygienists typically work one Friday a month from 8am - 1pm. Average prophy appointments are 1hr, child prophys are 30 min if no X-rays (1 hr if X-rays are needed), new patients are 1.5-2 hours depending on age, 2 hrs for 1/2 mouth 4341 and 1.5 hours for 1/2 mouth 4342.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive patient care by performing adult and child cleanings, periodontal assessments, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices. Recommend appropriate treatments as indicated.
Adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and hygienic practice.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, utilizing dental software (Open Dental).
Collaborate with the dental team to deliver exceptional customer service.
Maintain at least the minimum requirements for hygiene licensure, including continuing education (assistance available).
Support the operative side of the office by being able to discuss and explain adjunct procedures, including Invisalign and oral appliance therapy.

Qualifications

Valid Registered Dental Hygienist license (RDH) in NC and CPR certification
Proficiency in the practice of dental hygiene
Strong understanding of dental terminology and medical records
Experience with dental software
Knowledge of aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations
Ability to perform patient assessments and vital signs monitoring
Excellent customer service and communication skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
