QUALIFICATIONS: The LHC Dental Hygienist (DH) must hold an AAS in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program. The candidate must have a current Dental Hygienist license to practice in the state in which he/she works, X-Ray certificate, and CPR & first aid certificate. The Dental Hygienist must demonstrate the ability to work with diverse patient populations, including children, and pass a criminal background check. They must have the ability and mobility to perform the physical requirements of the job including standing for extended periods of time, lifting, pulling, or pushing moderate amounts of weight necessary to operate the office and dental equipment, and occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist. They must possess proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, have experience with electronic health records, and demonstrate knowledge of portable intraoral and stationary X-ray devices. Previous experience with EagleSoft, Open Dental, or Dentrix is a plus, along with strong communication skills for educating patients on oral health. May be required to physically assist drowsy patients after anesthesia or administer CPR. Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and radiation. JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our growing dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various oral health treatments and procedures to help patients maintain optimal dental health. This role involves working closely with dentists to assess, diagnose, and treat oral health conditions while educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assesses dental, Periodontic, and associated conditions and needs of patient; uses patient screening procedures, equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established regulations and guidelines, to include medical history review, dental charting, periodontal charting and oral cancer screenings; takes patient vital signs as required.
Delivers direct dental hygiene care to patients as assigned, using established dental hygienist procedures; performs routine treatment procedures, such as cleaning, scaling and root planing, polishing, radiographs, application of sealants and fluorides, fabrication of appliances, teeth whitening and related procedures.
Understands patient care goals and strives to deliver excellent, comprehensive care that results in achieving production goals.

· Develops and implements individualized dental care plans for patients; performs patient education, delivers technical information to nontechnical personnel, discharge planning of home care needs, and patient/family teaching under the supervision of a dentist.
· Provides chair-side assistance to the dentist in the performance of special tests, procedures, and complex treatments as needed.
· Documents dental history or chief complaint; records and reports pertinent observations and patient reactions to dental staff, as appropriate; documents lab procedures and ensures follow up on results.
· Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment of patients.
· Assists in preparation of patient care areas (including patient reception area), in the patient admission, transfer, and discharge process, as required; prepares reports and assists as required with patient reception, telephone calls, Recare/reactivation calls, routine triage, and other office duties.
· Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Dental Hygienist will function as a team leader/partner and collaborate as part of a treatment team with the LHC medical and behavioral health staff. The Dental Hygienist will report directly to the LHC Site Administrator and the Dentist.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour
