Dental Hygienist â Mobile Public Health | Performance-Based - Dentacor - Kyle, TX
- Permanent Dental Hygienist Job
- Kyle, TX
Job Description
Because everyone deserves to smile proudly
Dentacor is Utahâs leading mobile dentistry organization, dedicated to restoring health and dignity through accessible and affordable dental care. We serve people who are often overlooked by traditional clinics: individuals in substance use recovery, homeless shelters, low-income housing, and supportive service programs.
This is not a typical hygiene job. You wonât be in a fixed office, and your patients wonât have insurance cards neatly ready. But what you will have is the chance to change lives every single dayâand to practice at the top of your license through Dentacorâs nationally novel pilot program with the Utah Office of AI Policy (UOAIP).
Weâre seeking a compassionate, capable, and motivated Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) ready to step into a role that combines clinical skill, mission-driven service, and real-world impact.
Position Details
Pay: 100% Performance-Based, Your earnings directly reflect the care you provide.
Most RDHs average $60â$70/hour
High-efficiency days can exceed $90/hour
Slower days may be $40â$50/hour This model rewards providers who are proactive, patient-centered, and mission-aligned.
Schedule: Flexible (10â30 hours/week)
Location: Salt Lake County, with most clinics in SLCâ worksites & routes based on your availability
Setting: Mobile clinics in social service facilitiesâno commuting between patients
What Makes This Role Unique
Empowered Clinical Autonomy - Under Dentacorâs approved pilot program with the Utah Office of AI Policy, our RDHs are legally authorizedâwithin the defined scope of the agreementâto diagnose periodontal disease and edentulism and perform approved treatment (including scaling & root planing, and some denture delivery) without waiting for dentist review. You practice independently, with remote dentist support only as needed.
Mobile Innovation - We bring full dental hygiene/diagnostic services into housing complexes, recovery centers, and sheltersâusing portable equipment, teledentistry, intraoral cameras, and digital scanners. Operatories are set up in private, secure spaces onsite. We handle all logistics, equipment, and setup.
Mission-Focused Care - Many of our patients havenât seen a dentist in 10â20 years. Some are working toward sobriety or trying to reintegrate after incarceration. Others live in shelters. Your work helps them eat again without pain, regain confidence, and take the next step in their healing.
Real-World Challenges - This work can be emotionally and physically taxing. You may encounter patients with trauma, severe oral disease, or extreme anxiety. And sometimes, procedures must be adapted based on environment or patient need. But when a patient sees their smile for the first time in yearsâor thanks you for treating them like a person againâit makes it some of the most rewarding work possible.
Is This the Right Fit for You?
At Dentacor, we operate at the intersection of clinical excellence, system innovation, and social impact. This role is designed for hygienists who want to deliver high-quality care outside the limits of traditional dental settingsâwithout compromising on standards, support, or outcomes.
Youâll thrive in this role if you:
Are driven by purpose, autonomy, and tangible impact
Want to use your license to its fullest under a state-sanctioned, forward-thinking pilot program
Are confident engaging with diverse populations and complex patient histories with respect, empathy, and professionalism
See yourself as a contributor to innovative healthcare models, not just a provider of services

Requirements
Active Utah RDH license
Professional maturity, emotional intelligence, and empathy
Ability to work in highly dynamic mobile clinics (training provided)
Basic tech competency (charting, scanning, communication)
Experience with underserved communities is a plusâbut weâll train the right person with the right passion and experience
