Happy Dental New Year 2024!

This year has been a great year in the dental industry and for dental staffing, and we're excited about what's to come in the New Year!

Let's talk funny New Year's messages, quotes, post cards, text messages, New Year's goals and resolutions.

But first, let's cover whether or not your dental office will be open on New Year's Day...

Do Dental Offices Work on New Year's Day?

Many offices follow the federal holiday schedule, with January 1st listed as a holiday. So there's a good chance your dental office won't work on New Year's Day.

Princess Dental Staffing employees will be off on New Year's Day as well. If you work in a dental office, we hope you get the day off too!

Dental New Year Messages

The New Year is a great opportunity to send messages to your patients. Whether it's sharing something in the office, sending otu a text message, posting to social, or sending a postcard, here are some ideas to get things rolling!

We hope some of these funny New Year's messages put a smile on your face! You might use some of these to send out in an email, on social media, or in a text message.

New Year Social Media Posts

You might easily turn some of those funny quotes into a social media post like this:

But maybe you're not in a funny mood this year? Maybe funny doesn't quite fit your dental office culture...

In either case, a standard social media post for the new year might be posting a team picture with a message of appreciation. Standard New Year messages include:

  • Happy New Year
  • New year, new insurance, new smile!
  • Start your year with a grateful heart and a perfect smile
  • Or an out of the office notice

Here are a couple examples:

Memes

Memes are always a great opportunity to connect with people on social media.

Here's a meme you might recognize.

Surely there's a clever joke in there somewhere about candy...dentistry...Oompa Loompas...?

Send a New Year Dental Postcard

Dental postcards are a little more costly than posting memes to social media or sending a text message. But they can still provide a powerful message to your patients that you care about them.

Here's an example of silly, dental-themed New Year's postcard:

Next up, let's talk about goal setting in your dental office...

New Year Goals for Dental Practice

Most dental office balance their New Year's goals between business growth, patient care, and team development.

Let's take a look at what that might look like...

Step 1 - Assess Last Year's Goals

Start by assessing your previous year's goals.

This may include fiancial metrics, patient satisfaction, and team performance.

Working as a team, you might also identify the challenges your dental practice faced.

All this can provide a good starting point for goal setting in the New Year 2024.

Step 2 - Develop Goals as a Team

According to Professor Peter Drucker, "goals have a significant incentive impact on employees’ job motivation, attitude, and behavior."

That sounds important!

Drucker suggests using your employees to help create challenging but achievable goals.

Here are some areas you might look at:

  1. Financial Goals: Set clear financial targets, such as increasing revenue or reducing overhead costs.
  2. Operational Efficiency: Look for ways to streamline operations, such as improving appointment scheduling, reducing no-shows, or enhancing record-keeping practices.
  3. Patient Feedback: Review patient feedback from the past year to identify areas for improvement in patient care and experience.
  4. Team Development: Consider goals that focus on team training, continuing education, and morale.
  5. Marketing Strategies: Develop or refine your marketing plan to attract new patients and retain existing ones. This could include social media marketing, community outreach, or patient referral programs.

Step 3 - Create an Action Plan

Break each of your goals you created with your employees in Step 2 into actionable steps and assign responsibilities to appropriate staff members. Be sure to monitor your progress with regular check-ins and adjust your goals and strategies as needed throughout the year.

Set Some Dental Resolutions

What are the aspirations for your dental office this year?

Whether its holding regular team meetings, decluttering the dental office, or increasing your dental office's social media presence, setting resolutions can be a powerful New Year's tradition.

Of course, keeping your resolutions is an important part of the process too!

Princess Dental Staffing is here to help you with all your staffing needs. If your one of your resolutions is to hire new staff or fill a temp position, we're here to help!
