Our growing pediatric dental practice is on the search for an exceptional registered dental hygienist to lead our clinical team as our Clinical Coordinator. We desire someone long-term who will love working with our fun, efficient team, and all of our children and parents that we have the honor to care for each work day. Job Description for the Hygienist Clinical Coordinator:
·      Performing prophies and scaling new patient and recare hygiene patients: taking diagnostic radiographs, coronal polishing, flossing, use of hand scaling and cavitron as needed, applying fluoride, and reviewing oral hygiene instructions.
·      While you will not have a set column(s), ideally, you will be moving from patient to patient doing only what you can do (hand-scale, cavitron, and OHI). 
·      You must wear loupes. This is non-negotiable.
·      Administration of local anesthesia for operative patients 
·      3 month prophies – We block off 1 hour of time.
·      Applying sealants and silver diamine fluoride (SDF)
·      Be able to explain the caries process and progression, and be able to explain the treatment that the doctor recommends to the parent of the child
·      Educating parents on preventive strategies and our prescription strength fluoridated toothpaste. 
·      Scheduling the patient’s next recare or follow up appointment(s)
·      Assisting the doctor with tongue and lip tie release consults and treatment. 
·      Educating parents on tethered oral tissues (aka tongue ties/lip ties and their systemic effects). Our doctor will educate and train you on this. 
·      Updating any clinical logs: oral sedation medication log, R/O water log, etc.
·      Reviewing post operative instructions with our patients and their parents
·      Sterilizing instruments
·      Keeping the sterilization area organized and clean
·      Stocking our operative and clinical areas
·      Performing the monthly clincial supply order.
·      Performing cost comparisons and being cost effective with purchasing with the set budget for the month
·      Keeping up with our semi-annual and annual equipment maintenance by ordering and scheduling the appropriate supplies and/or field technician: Sterisil R/O water order, compressor maintenance
·      Collaborating with your doctor on finding new talent with dental assistants or sterile techs, training them with our office protocols, and providing corrective coaching when they underperforming (initially, under the guidance of the doctor) and documenting this
·      Staying on top of and keeping an organized file of dental assistant certificates, CPR cards, OSHA, and Hepatitis B logs
·      Communicating with your doctor and organizing an update with your doctor regarding upcoming team-members expired CPR certifications and any office medications.
·       “Scrubbing the schedule”- looking ahead at the next few days and inputing in the schedule any special notes on the patient, co-payments, what radiographs are needed, etc. 
·      Staying on top of and completing all clinic notes and inputing what radiographs and fluoride were performed in each pateint’s chart for the day
·      You must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and email communication. Email is the preferred method of relaying office orders to your doctor and the business team.
·      You will be performing some administrative tasks like typing out or updating clinical team policies and keeping our online document files organized.
·      You must be proficient with dental insurance frequencies (how often the insurance cover radiographs, fluoride, panorex) and co-pays. 
·      On occasion, you may be needed to present a treatment plan and review the insurance portion and patient portion investments. 
·      On occasion, taking vitals and doing the pre-operative intake with the parent and child prior to any oral sedation or general anesthesia treatments if we are short-staffed. 
·      If we are short-staffed, you may need to assist our doctor with any operative treatments.
·      Participation in a minimum of two paid community marketing events in the calendar year. These are typically during spring and fall and are either after work or on the weekend; we will know these dates as they come and a few months before the event date. 
·      Our doctor and team of advisors have worked dilgently over the last five years to create sound office systems and protocols, and we expect you to adapt to them whole-heartedly!

·      As a leader of the clinical team, you will encourage and help out your teammates in any way to make the day run with ease, fluidity, and most importantly, to give our precious patients and their parents the utmost care and compassion they deserve every time they come. 
 
Requirements for RDH:
·      RDH diploma
·      Local Anesthesia and Nitrous oxide certification
 
Compensation depends on experience:
·      RDH: Up to $50 per hour
 
Work-week:
·      Mondays- Thursdays 7:30am- 5:00pm
