Job Description
Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in the overall management of patient oral health. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and sterile environment for patients.
Duties
Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients.
Take and review medical imaging to assess oral health.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient visit.
Perform documentation review to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Assist in medical coding for insurance purposes as needed.
Measure and record vital signs as part of the patient assessment process.
Utilize dental systems such as Dentrix for scheduling and record management.
Implement infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
Provide education to patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
Collaborate with dentists and other team members to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
Valid dental hygiene license in the state of practice.
Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and interpretation.
Experience with medical records management and documentation review.
Knowledge of medical coding practices is preferred.
Ability to measure vital signs accurately.
Familiarity with dental systems, specifically Dentrix, is an advantage.
Previous experience in dental assisting is a plus.
Strong understanding of infection control procedures.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and comfort.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
