Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients while ensuring their comfort and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in educating patients about oral health and promoting preventive care.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess patients' oral health.
Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment during procedures.
Document patient medical records accurately, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations.
Take and develop dental radiographs as needed for diagnostic purposes.
Monitor vital signs of patients before, during, and after treatments to ensure their safety.
Provide care for pediatric patients with an understanding of their unique needs in general dentistry settings.
Collaborate with the dental team to improve patient care and streamline office systems.
Requirements
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Strong knowledge of anatomy related to oral health and dental procedures.
Familiarity with medical coding practices is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience with electronic medical records systems is a plus.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
