Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support our dental practitioners in providing high-quality patient care. This role involves assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. The Dental Assistant will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment for patients while ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
Duties
Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Prepare and organize treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
Perform X-ray imaging as required, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records, utilizing systems such as Epic and Eaglesoft for data entry and management.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment plans tailored to their needs.
Support pediatric patients with a gentle approach, ensuring their comfort during visits.
Assist in prosthodontic procedures by preparing materials and providing chairside support.
Uphold knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with the dental team and patients.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain cleanliness in the clinical environment.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques is advantageous.
Knowledge of medical documentation practices and dental terminology is essential.
Experience with dental software systems such as Epic or Eaglesoft is a plus.
Ability to perform X-ray imaging safely and effectively is preferred.
Strong communication skills, particularly when interacting with pediatric patients, are essential for this role.
