Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a passion for providing high-quality dental care.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during various procedures, including but not limited to fillings, extractions, and cleanings.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
Take dental X-rays as required and ensure proper documentation of images.
Manage patient records, including medical documentation and coding, using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Assist in the management of the dental office, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
Support specialized procedures in areas such as prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry.
Utilize advanced technology such as 3D scanners for precise imaging when necessary.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
Proficiency in taking X-rays and familiarity with dental software (Dentrix or Epic) is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medical coding and documentation practices is an asset.
Experience or interest in specialized fields such as prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatrics, or general dentistry is a plus.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
Certification in CPR or First Aid is preferred.
