Dental Assistant - Jagan Dental - Oakland Gardens, NY

We are a small, boutique private dental practice located in Queens Village, NY. We are looking for a dental assistant to join our dental team Monday-Thursday and every other Saturday. This is a general dentistry practice with one dentist to work alongside with. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients.
Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
Maintain infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments and managing the cleanliness of the treatment area.
Setting up and breaking down operatories for procedures.
Utilize dental software Dentrix for patient records management.
Take digital X-rays as needed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Stay updated on terminology relevant to general dentistry practices.

Experience

Previous experience of at least one year as a Dental Assistant is required; additional training will be provided as needed.
Knowledge of infection control standards and procedures is essential.
Experience with dental software systems is advantageous.
Experience with digital X-ray software.
A strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment is important for success in this role.
