Hometown Family Dentistry is looking for a flexible individual with a positive attitude to fill the position of a Dental Assistant AND Scheduling Coordinator. This would be a "floating" position based on the needs of the practice for the day. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care as well as exceptional customer service. This position requires proficiency in assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining patient records, and communication skills both verbal and written.

Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to HIPAA regulations and clinic protocols.
Take dental X-rays as needed, ensuring proper safety measures are followed.
Maintain accurate medical documentation for patients, including treatment plans and progress notes.
Provide support in general dentistry procedures as well as specialized areas such as endodontics.
Manage patient flow within the clinic, ensuring a positive experience for all patients.
Scheduling appointments and managing patient records in the dental systems.
Answering phone calls
Checking patients in/out
Text and email appointment reminders
Requirements
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is required.
Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and equipment is essential.
Familiarity with medical documentation practices and HIPAA compliance is required.
Proficiency in operating dental systems for scheduling and record management is advantageous.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is required. EFDA is preferred.
